Pillows, Pajama Pants, and a Pizza

Hello It's Heather Again,
Here is how the day has gone so far!

10:15 am
Miss Stolar calls. They have safely made it to Miami. They experienced a late take off due to de-icing the plan. The plane had to be sprayed twice, once to remove ice, and the second time to prevent new ice from forming. The other thing that slowed them down was wind blowing at 160 MPH!!!
Most of the students slept, but some got out their coloring books.
They all got their baggage checked in with no one going over the 50lb limit. The closest was Abby with 49.5lbs!!
The only frustrating moment was in the morning getting shuttled over to the airport. The shuttle driver was a bit grouchy and made them split the team up so other patrons could go on the first trip over. Luckily Miss Stolar was able to check students in while they were being shuttled over, and everyone made it.

Here are some pictures from the airport

Things went so smooth at check-in that they were told they had a well oiled machine!

10:30 am
Alli calls. They have found their next gate. The plane is on time for a 11:30 boarding and a 11:55 departure. The plan now is to eat some food.

11:11AM
Villa Pizza is the lunch of choice for our teenagers. They ordered 15 large pizzas, so they’re good to go(and the employees at the pizza place are busy busy!).
Josh and Chelsea are feeling much improved and feeling better, but Miss Shawnda is still not feeling well.

11:39 AM
They’ve boarded.
Fun fact, the pizza slices were so big that they couldn’t eat it all. So they plated the leftovers and passed them out to workers, people flying, etc… It was a fun ministry moment. Several asked them why they were doing this, so they got to explain about the trip and where they were going and why they were going. What a wonderful opportunity to witness!!
Here are some pictures!!!

11:54 AM
Everyone is on the plane, seated and good to go.

12:03 PM
The plane is starting to taxi.

12:30ish PM
They are airborne. Dominican Republic Here we come!
Their estimated time of arrival is 3:15 PM
