The Logos Team!!

As if nineteen teenagers wasn't enough, in just three days, we're going to add to our already crazy team even MORE teenagers...Dominican teenagers! Our team of nineteen students and five leaders is also going to have twenty five Dominican teenagers and five Dominican leaders once we land in the country!!! (Can I get a woot woot??)

Our team is partnering with an ACSI Christian school in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic called "Colegio Cristiano Logos" ("Logos Christian School.") It's the senior class of Logos who will be housing us for the beginning and end part of the trip that we spend in Santo Domingo, the capital city. (See our itinerary on the side of the blog page.) We will spend our first four days in Santo Domingo getting to know our new Dominican friends and their beautiful country...and then on Sunday afternoon (the 18th), all FIFTY FOUR of us will hop on a bus and travel two hours north of Santo Domingo to the mountains of Jarabacoa, where we will stay at "La Vida Joven" ("Young Life Ranch") and work together at El Arca and Palo Blanco.

This past weekend, there has been an explosion of facebook friend requests and IM conversations (in both Spanish and English) as both of our teams have begun the process of getting to know one another, even before we get to the airport and fly out of Ohio. I think this is a great idea...and a great start to forming unity and bonding together as one team. I can't wait to see what the Lord does once the two teams come together to form one!!
