Adios Jarabacoa!

We had a great last day at El Arca today. It was so fun hanging out playing with the kids. The first hour of our time there, we played outside in the wonderfully warm sunshine. Some played on the playground, some played volley ball, some sat around singing with the kids, some swung them around and played little games with them, some just sat with them holding them and talking to them. While we were hanging out with the kids, Mr. Farmer was preparing the grill for the picnic that we’d be having with the kids. Hot dogs, potato chips and several kinds of pop…..a yummy picnic and we all had a good time. After we ate, we took all the kids back into the blue building and we had a time of prayer and blessing with them lead by Tyran and one of the Logos students, Gaby. After that, each of the kids lined up by the door and we gave each little one a beanie baby or hot wheel car that we had brought with us from home. We spent our last moments together in the grassy area next to the building for a group picture and a special video message for all our friends back at Dayton Christian. Hugs goodbye and a few tears shed and then we were back on the bus heading back to Pico Escondido. It was a great day…my favorite day of the whole week.

Now we’re taking our last trek down the hill at the ranch and will be heading back to Santo Domingo in about ten minutes. In two and a half hours we will be settling in our host homes for where we will stay tonight. It’s been an incredible week. We have many sweet and special memories that will stay with us forever! :)

The kids are saying...
"Hola Dayton Christian...y gracias"
"Hello Dayton Christian...and thank you."
